Wearables

Exploration in visually impaired assistance is primarily focused on wearables and add-ons to mobile devices. The constraint for the project was to make a device that was both intuitive and easy to use.

First Steps

User Experience

The device is focused on navigation and how users can travel to new destinations. Signage and traffic make this journey hard for the visually impaired, so the device aims to help combat these obstacles.

Haptics

Using haptics, users are able to face the right direction and distinguish different paths. Essentially, the user will feel a slight pulse that will quicken when turning in the wrong direction.

Visual Identification

The AI for Oxley is theoretical at the moment because of the size of the components but was designed with a system much like Tesla's Autopilot.
